BLUE LAB Family Day Care OSBORNE PARK

Meet Caitlin and her son Kai

I am a passionate educator and my goal is to provide opportunities for the children to reach their full potential through the positive learning environment that I have created in my home, while collaborating with parents and the community.

For me, the role of a teacher is the most important aspect to the child’s learning. My personal approach includes being a caring, motivating and enthusiastic educator by finding interesting and engaging ways to promote children's learning.

Know how well do we do

A top-notch service for you!

In late 2017, BLUE LAB went through the NQS rating process by the Education and Care Regulatory Unit.

The rating measures the quality of any Early Childhood Service in Australia. It examines seven areas and scores them within a four-scale system: Needs improvement, Working Towards, Meeting, and Exceeding what is expected.

BLUE LAB has scored 5 Meeting and 2 Exceeding. These last ones were in Relationship with Children and Collaborative with Families, where it really matters.

But how good is our score? Is just good… or really good?

Philosophy

Through my passion of teaching early childhood and the experiences I am lucky enough to have had, I have gained an understanding in how important the first five years are for a child’s social, emotional and cognitive development. While their mind is like a sponge soaking up everything around them, I will be there to provide them with nurturing care in a safe, supportive and homely environment.

My main priorities are building rich learning experiences and environments, which capture and engage children’s minds. In my service, your child will create their own learning pathway through their interests and discovery. I am here to support them while they discover their own identities in the big world around them.

Exploring is important for developing their senses. Through exposing my own child to sensory experiences, he has developed his social, emotional, physical and cognitive abilities and really enjoyed the activities as well. By providing children the opportunity to play, explore and use all of their senses, they too will build on all of these areas within their own development.

I really enjoy being outdoors with my son and taking him on nature walks to see wildlife whenever we can. Children need to be immersed in nature and the outdoor environment to engage all of their senses. This will be a primary focus in my service as we have a nature play area and children will be working outdoors everyday.

In my service there is a maximum of four children, including my own son, which means I can provide a deeper level of care for each child and a stronger focus on their individual needs. Through this higher level of care, I will be able to build strong, trusting relationships with each child and their families, while I continue to follow the values and respect traditions that are special within each family. Building relationships with not only the child, but also their families and the wider community, allows me to embrace multiculturalism and incorporate this into my teaching.

I look forward to being able to provide such a vital role in your child’s life and encourage them to reach their full potential, and grow as a unique individual in my care service. I will be fulfilled knowing that I can be such a positive part of their life journey.
