BLUE LAB Family Day Care
Hi, my name is Sasha. I first developed a love of Family Day Care 17 years ago when my son was a baby and I cared for him at home whilst providing a quality Family Day Care service. I then took a break from Family Day Care to raise my own set of twins and complete a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) and Graduate Diploma (Primary Teaching) at Uni. I have since taught in many Early Learning Centres and Primary Schools across Perth.
I believe Family Day Care should provide a nurturing ‘home away from home’, where children feel safe, secure and supported. I endeavour to offer a wide variety of resources and rich learning experiences. Building strong relationships with children is important to me, as it enables me to tailor my program to suit individual children’s interests, needs and abilities.
As a practising university qualified Kindergarten teacher, I run a quality School Readiness program. I believe that I can support your child in learning important skills for school and life in an exciting and enjoyable manner and look forward to meeting you both.

A top-notch service for you!
BLUE LAB has gone through the NQS rating process by the Education and Care Regulatory Unit.
The rating measures the quality of any Early Childhood Service in Australia. It examines seven areas and scores them within a four-scale system: Needs improvement, Working Towards, Meeting, and Exceeding what is expected.
BLUE LAB has scored 5 Meeting and 2 Exceeding. These last ones were in Relationships with Children and Collaboration with Families, where it really matters.
But how good is our score? Is it just good… or really good?
In line with the Reggio Amelia approach, I regard the environment as the ‘third teacher’ and am passionate about creating stimulating, nature-filled surrounds which stimulate children’s creativity, curiosity and involvement in learning.
I value a child-centred program, where children learn through discovery, play, and exploration, guided by their interests. I believe in creating flexible, open-ended and holistic learning opportunities. My role is that of guide or facilitator, supporting children to express themselves and learn in a multitude of ways. I aim to grasp those ‘teachable moments’ and extend children’s learning by supporting them to uncover further ideas and knowledge.
I view children as strong and capable. I have high expectations for the children I care for and educate, since I believe that all children have potential and the capacity to self-manage. Respectful and positive relationships with all children in my care and their families are most important to me.
Finally, I believe infusing a sense of warmth, humour, fun, and wonder in all that we do will create positive dispositions for learning, thus setting each child up for success!
