BLUE LAB Family Day Care SCARBOROUGH
I am a mother of two girls and an early years educator. I believe in children learning through play, and enjoy encouraging them to explore their environment to become confident and happy people. I offer an ever-changing range of activities and play stations to encourage the children to take charge of their own play and development.
Prior to having children, I worked as a Medic in the Royal Australian Air Force and more recently as an Occupational Health Nurse. The life experiences I have from my previous occupations have helped provided me with a calming and positive outlook along with a drive for influencing healthy lifestyle and environmental choices for younger generations.
I offer an opportunity for children to explore, develop, and grow in the safety of a home environment with a Reggio Emilia approach. I look forward to working with you to help your child reach their learning potential.

Know how well do we do
A top-notch service for you!
In late 2017, BLUE LAB went through the NQS rating process by the Education and Care Regulatory Unit.
The rating measures the quality of any Early Childhood Service in Australia. It examines seven areas and scores them within a four-scale system: Needs improvement, Working Towards, Meeting, and Exceeding what is expected.
BLUE LAB has scored 5 Meeting and 2 Exceeding. These last ones were in Relationship with Children and Collaborative with Families, where it really matters.
But how good is our score? Is just good… or really good?
I believe every child is unique and they require a loving and nurturing environment to develop to their true potential. I also believe that as children play they are developing the skills they need to succeed in adulthood. With this in mind, I am committed to providing a safe, fun and high quality service for children in the Scarborough area that is based on hands-on learning. I aim to facilitate a home learning environment, which consists of play-based programs and activities, while maintaining routine throughout the day.
I offer and encourage the development of creative and social skills through opportunities for sensory play through a wide variety of materials, which stimulates and builds upon each child’s individual needs and interests. I believe that every child brings individual personality to the group and I support full inclusion of each child and their diverse abilities. I feel that children should be treated with respect and dignity, to feel safe and secure, to have opportunity for learning through play, decision-making, and social interaction with their peers.
I believe open communication is essential to the wellbeing of everyone involved in family day care. Teamwork and creating a happy environment for children and families is paramount. I aim to continually improve my day care and my own professional development to provide the very best care.
