BLUE LAB Family Day Care Banksia Grove

Meet Aura, Noah and Victoria Lucia
Welcome to my service.
My name is Aura. I have 2 children, Noah 2 years old and Victoria Lucia 2.5 Months old. We are originally from Venezuela and moved to Australia in 2010.
I am a Diploma Qualified early childhood educator as well as a Clinical Psychologist in Venezuela. I have been running my family day care for over 2 years and have enjoyed this beautiful journey putting in practice my knowledge and experience in regards children holistic development. I have worked in early childhood for more than 8 years and have experience working with children with additional needs back in my home country.
In all these years of my career, I have learnt how important is the early learning and development in children and how fundamental is to build positive relationships since they are born with the people around them. I work alongside families to provide the best care for their children, understanding their own personal needs, values, level and type of learning to then extend this in my service.
In my care, children are surrounded with love, respect and are valued for who they are. Every child is given the opportunity to be themselves, learn in their own pace and being exposed to a rich and meaningful environment.
I look forward to meet you and you children to begin a new learning adventure at Amazing Grace.

Know how well do we do
A top-notch service for you!
BLUE LAB has gone through the NQS rating process by the Education and Care Regulatory Unit.
The rating measures the quality of any Early Childhood Service in Australia. It examines seven areas and scores them within a four-scale system: Needs improvement, Working Towards, Meeting, and Exceeding what is expected.
BLUE LAB has scored 5 Meeting and 2 Exceeding. These last ones were in Relationship with Children and Collaborative with Families, where it really matters.
But how good our score is? Is just good… or really good?

Somos bilingües | We are bilingual
En este Day Care hablamos en español, lo cual es genial para niños hispanoparlantes que deseen reforzar y aprender la lengua de al menos uno de sus padres.
We speak Spanish in this center. This is great for english-speaking kids if you want them to start learning a second language at the best possible age.
Philosophy
As an early childhood educator and psychologist, I believe children's first years of life are the most important in their life and the basis of the adult they will become. Having the opportunity to develop physically, cognitively, social and emotionally, will build a positive self esteem, confidence, and allow them achieve their highest potential and have a positive impact in this world.
In our service we ensure all children feel loved, respected and valued. We aim to meet children's needs while providing a positive environment where they feel safe, secure, develop a sense of belonging, relate to others and develop life skills. Also, we believe each child have an important role in their own development and learning, therefore, we like responding to their ideas and give them as many opportunities to learn in their own way, doing what they enjoy and own their learning journey.
My role as educator is to support children in this crucial stage of their lives, guide them, teach them skills and support them when they need me to. My primary role is to learn alongside children, becoming involved in group learning experiences as a guide and resource. I believe that each child is an individual and as an educator I will value and develop each child's strengths, interests, skills, abilities and knowledge to extend their learning.
At Amazing Grace, we provide a variety of child-centered learning experiences and areas as we believe that children learn through play and enjoying what they do, give them choices, responsibilities, and opportunities to initiate their own learning.. We also give opportunities for children to explore, discover, create and imagine as well as being cultural exposed to celebrate the benefits of diversity.
I believe the environment plays a major role in the success of our early childhood curriculum. For this reason, we carefully plan and set our areas in a way that all children feel included, they can move around freely and engaged in meaningful experiences and interaction with others.
I also consider families a vital aspect of my program. We maintain an open communication with parents and careers in order to work together for their child's wellbeing and progress in their learning.
Finally, we enjoy taking part of our community by participating in local activities, exposing children to their surroundings, teaching them to value and respect their environment and learn how to look after nature.
